Question by Lulus Momma: How should I handle this situation?

I had 3 cars. One was my SUV that was primarily what I used for road trips when I took my dog. I had a little Nissan for local errands and I had a sonata for driving to work. It was my ‘nice’ car without dog hair.
My niece needed a car. At first I was going to give her the Nissan but it had a car payment on it and everyone was working to try to get her a car without a car payment. At the time my niece was a senior in high school and was only making an hour as a cashier and worked about 20 hours a week.
My dog had died.
So my dad made a joke and said ‘you could let me have your SUV and I could give her my Kia” So I said OK. The SUV didn’t have a car payment and it was still pretty new and only had 70,000 miles on it. His Kia didn’t have a car payment either so when he gave it to the niece she got a car without a car payment. Well 2 months of her having the Kia – it clunkered out and was in the shop for a month and no one could fix it. So to make a long story short, she now has my Nissan. I paid it off.
When I gave the SUV to my dad I laid down some ‘rules’ as in 1. you can’t sell it, 2. you can’t trade it in on another car and 3. Mom can’t smoke in it in case I get it back I want it to be a smoke free car.
So now 2 years has passed. I want to get another dog. I don’t want the dog in my only remaining car – the nice car.
Since my dad has had the benefit of using a car without any payments for 2 years – would it be bad to tell him I want it back?
My parents have 2 other cars – a Toyota Corolla (my mom’s work car) and a BMW z4 – my mom’s pleasure car.

And for the record, my mom regularly drives the SUV and smokes in it all the time.

I miss the SUV – we took it on a family trip to St. Louis in August and I said I missed my SUV.

Given they never paid me a penny and I did set the expectation that I might want it back at some time – would it be bad to tell them I now want it back?

I gave them the car within a month of my dog dying and I did it because in my mental state I just thought I didn’t need a dog car – and I was trying to help fix a family situation so my niece could have a way to work.

Best answer:

Answer by Evie
Wow first of all I have never heard of people having so many cars for different things. You should ask for it back and say your circumstances are going to change, you know they have two cars and you would like yours back now please. You are an adult, you gave it in good faith and they have broken one of the rules and you should not feel bad asking for it back after all you paid for it.

It was enough for 16-year-old Mercedes “Sadie” to be caught in a love triangle between two guys, but when your brother enters the picture nothing can be that simple. After recently confessing to his parents he is gay, Anthony’s sexual confusion is followed by an iniquity by those who are supposed to love him—except for Mercedes. The bond between this pair was inseparable. So when Mercedes begins to surpass her indifference for her brother and starts feeling something unexpected, she can no longer deny the matter-at-hand. Budding an incest relationship, Mercedes and Anthony must fight all the obstacles in their way from insolent homophobes to bitchy girls with pompoms, and worst of all—Steven, Mercedes’s boyfriend. In spite of it all, will love prevail?

Question by fishingforbasses: Help interpret my dream?

This is really wierd, dreams are like that. Bear with me here.

I had a very lucid, profound dream last night. Today I stumbled upon an incredible revelation about myself and my spirituality, and I believe the dream had something to do with my revelation, and the future.

The dream itself had an anxious vibe to it, like a “keep moving” feeling. The weather was calm. The sky was overcast.

The only part I remember is this: I was lifting palm sized gray rocks out of a cement hole that was filled with them, I got the vibe the hole led somewhere, there was a ladder leading down the hole, but it was filled with rocks (about palm sized, moving them wasn’t an isse) so I had to move them first. But for some reason (only picking up like 7 or so of them), I turned to my right and saw a road that led to a red bridge, which was about 10 feet away, the bridge was slightly rusted, but I wouldn’t think twice about using it in real life, it was in acceptable condition. When I started crossing the bridge, it collapsed (from the other side) into a reasonably large river, My vision was facing towards the bottom of the body of water the bridge was built over (the water was a reasonably clear blue, but I couldn’t see the bottom). I started to swim towards the bottom. About halfway there, the bridge then rose again to it’s original position (as if it never collapsed), so I started walking to the other side (I don’t recall what was on the other side). Just as I started walking on the now corrected bridge, I noticed tons of spiders with webs built in between the support bars in the bridge (you probably have seen bridges with large, triangular support beams, that’s what I’m talking about). Weirdly, they weren’t there before the bridge fell into the water, and the collapse of the bridge didn’t wash them away. At first they were minding their own business, but as I started to cross it, I started to get tangled in their webs, and was “dodging” them as they started to lower themselves using their webs. They weren’t particularly aggressive towards me, but they were getting in the way and it was grossing me out. (Almost done) Out of nowhere I found a gardening hose and started to spray them, their webs, and their egg sacksout of my way. These spiders, which were light brown with big abodmen and twig legs, turning into black widows. I then woke up from the anxiety.

This is all I can agree with (could be wrong, this is the vibe I got):
The Spiders represented deception/lies, their webs, which I was lightly caught in (I could remove them just like in real life, they stuck to me just like they would when you get one caught on you)
The water represented materialism.

Your opinion on the water/spiders is welcome, but I’m pretty sure that’s the meaning they had in the dream.

So I was spraying lies with materialism? Doesn’t really make sense, maybe the water from the hose wasn’t materialism, but the water the bridge was crossing was? What does the bridge mean? The rocks and the cement ladder that I apparently gave up on? It’s really confusing, but I can’t shake the fact this is probably the most important dream I’ve ever had…

Thanks for the help.

Devlin
Tkh. Nope. The rocks were easy (I mentioned that moving them wasn’t an issue), and when I went to cross the bridge, it collapsed, but I chose to take it anyways (swimming towards the other side, underwater). That if anything would prove that I purposefully chose the harder path.

Maybe if I had moved all the rocks I would have found a hidden knowledge that I should have had to work harder for? That whatever was on the other side of the bridge (knowledge, love etc), I am suppost to take the route of most resistance to get there successfully?
When the bridge collapsed, I was still on land, I chose to swim under water to reach the other side, which I couldn’t see because of the water was fogging the path infront of me.

The spiders could imply that it was “punishment”, but I feel they were a warning, or a test to advance to the other side. As I said, the rocks weren’t hard to lift at all, I could’ve very easily cleared the cement path.

Best answer:

Answer by T’khambe
Maybe the rocks in the cement hole represent a hardship that you must endure or overcome and the rusty bridge was the easy way out and because you chose that, it had terrible consequences.

Question by Kish: Can I write name on License plate tag?

I just recently got a CPO BMW, the temp plate tags just advertise “Certified Pre-owned BMW”. And the temp tag is inside the car on the back windshield. Would I be able to take off the Pre-Owned tags and put one I mad with my Name on it? I am in NJ, I don’t know if this would be considered illegal as I don’t have my real plates yet.
The Temp tags I am talking about are just plates that label the car as a “Certified Pre-Owned” there is nothing on them besides that. The Temporary License plate (paper) is inside the vehicle on the back windshield while the real plates are made and sent to me once all the registration stuff is completed by the dealership (BMW). The plates on the car located front and trunk have nothing on them but the advertising frames and the tag that states it is a BMW. Would I be able to just remove those? Since they say nothing about the car besides the fact it is a BMW pre-owned.

Best answer:

Answer by rhay ♥
the temp tag cannot be changed. that would be illegal, as that is how authorities recognize your car.
if you like, and can do it, you probably could change the temp tags if all they say is cpo bmw. don’t change anything that changes the identifying characteristics of the car!

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by Pineapplegurrrl: I need the name of this book. I remember a lot of details, so it should be easy?

Basically I read this book waaay back in fourth grade (or maybe third, I can’t remember, but I think it was fourth). Anyway, in the book, there was this girl (whose name I cannot remember) and this boy, whose name was Beamer–I remember this because I remember the girl asking him, “Like the car, BMW?”
Anyway, so there is this really famous author who writes these amazing mystery/scary books. But lately, everyone who reads the books starts to act strangely. In one book, something happens with gummy worms, one made them all act really weird, like start to convulse and stuff (I think).
So the girl and guy head out to Pennsylvania, where they search for the author of the books. They have a weird encounter at the pool, and again it was the effects of the books, and I remember it had something to do with ghosts. When they finally got to the house, the girl and guy discovered, from the author, that she was using mind control and basically, in her newest book, when the readers get to a certain page or sentence, something happens and they can’t read anymore, and their minds will be taken over (or something like that). Eventually, though, the girl and guy win and everyone is saved.
I think the title was something like, “The Mysterious Case of R.M. Stein” or something like that. I know that the word mysterious was in the title, and I know that the author’s name was something with Stein at the end, maybe R.M. Stein. But I know that the author’s name was R.M. Stein.
I know this book sounds cheesy, but it was actually pretty good. And I have no idea where to find it or what it’s called. Can someone please help me out? Best answer and 10 points to the person who helps me find it first!
Sorry, I meant the author’s name was something with Stein at the end, not exactly R.M. Stein.
No, it wasn’t the Goosebumps series. I would remember if it was Goosebumps.
No, it was not R.L. Stine! I just said it wasn’t Goosebumps or anything like it. It had the name Stein in the title!

Best answer:

Answer by Claroo Kangaroo
Goosebumps series try them. They are WRitten by a Stein and fit your description

Question by McMike: What do you think of spending waste in government?

The state of California is talking about bankruptcy yet today I saw a CHP motorcycle with the “BMW” logo on it. I also saw some job postings for the city of Brea, CA that said: CITY CLERK ,500/mo and a bunch of other city jobs that offer -6k jobs for what are normally -12/hr positions. Firefighters, yes they are our “heros” I know, but the starting pay is RIDICULOUS! I don’t care if they put their lives on the line! I did too when I was in the Marines in a war zone! BIG DEAL! That’s what you sign up for and you never think of yourself as a hero! But back to my point…WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOING WASTING SO MUCH MONEY ON MAKING PEOPLE FAT WITH THESE RIDICULOUS SPENDING HABITS???

Best answer:

Answer by S.
First – BMW motorcycles are incredibly durable and reliable – one of the few motorcycle brands that can easily crest 100,000 miles no problem. Perfect for police work, no more expensive than a ‘Harley’.

Second – vote for politicians that are more fiscally responsible. Americans as a whole waste money and have ridiculous spending habits, why are we surprised that our politicians do the same? Look at how many people are underwater on their homes, who live way outside their means, etc.

There’s a saying that America gets exactly the government we deserve. I encourage you to either campaign for office yourself, or encourage others to vote for financially responsible politicians who will stop wasting our money.

Question by Horseshoe Rapids: Is a Porsche 914 (circa 1973) a decent car?

My dad bought a 914 a few years ago and has been restoring it plus rebuilding and beefing up the engine (I think he said it has 130 hp right now (I think the original had like 80 hp)) with a curb weight of just over a ton). A friend of mine who doesn’t like old cars and only cares about new ones said it was a “poor man’s Porsche” and pretty much a piece of sh*t. He has a VW R32 he’s always bragging about, and while it may be faster than my dad’s, it’s also 1,000-1,500 lbs heavier. I don’t really care if my dad’s car can beat my friends, but I want to know if my dad’s car is really that bad, or if my friend is simply prejudiced.

I haven’t driven either car (yet)…I think (hope!) my dad’s is a standard shift (I can’t remember). My friend’s R32 is an automatic since he’s a paraplegic, but to me, an automatic shift pretty much takes the fun out of driving no matter how powerful the car is.

Best answer:

Answer by Lucy May
it is a classic. Maybe not so descent now a days.
